Not only is Georgia Moditi one of our favourite local fashion designers, but we have fallen in love with her new space which makes for a very enjoyable and hyggelig shopping experience. Georgia has just recently opened her new stunning store in a modest mid century building in the heart of Kaimakli in Nicosia, which very conveniently joins on to her existing atelier.
What we feel makes this space so hyggelig is the beautiful mix of different natural and raw surfaces and textures:
- the mix of different ceramic pots
- the woven storage baskets
- the selection of both old and new wooden furniture
- beautifully aged leather upholstery
- hints of marble and copper/brass accents
- the stone terrazzo tiles
- the variety of plants and greenery.
The combination of these natural finishes against the high ceilings and white walls are the perfect back drop and accompaniment to the designer's collection. What we also find makes this space especially hyggelig are the small thoughtful details, like the little plant sitting in a vase on the electric box in the entrance or the candles in the dressing room which are a lovely touch.
The space ultimately reflects the philosophy of the fashion brand itself: effortless yet carefully thought out simplicity and beauty.
Our favourite part? Has to be the terrazzo tiled floor design.
